Mountains in Slovakia, 2025

Hi,

I’m Mari — a freelance designer and travel writer focused on practical, experience-based travel in Europe.

I created this site to share structured, realistic travel guides shaped by firsthand trips across Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Norway, and other parts of Europe. I often revisit places in different seasons to understand how timing, transport, and pacing change the experience.

My background in design influences how I approach travel writing. I care about structure, flow, and clarity. Instead of listing every attraction, I focus on decision points:

  • When is a city worth slowing down for?
  • When is a day trip too ambitious?
  • When does renting a car improve the experience — and when does it complicate it?

I’m especially interested in slow travel, no-car routes, regional road trips, and comparisons that help travelers choose between destinations with confidence.

When I’m not working, I explore cities on foot or by bike, testing routes and observing how places actually function beyond the highlights. Many of the guides on this site reflect those experiences.

My goal is simple: to help independent travelers plan Europe in a way that feels intentional, manageable, and grounded in real-world logistics — not just inspiration.

Feel free to follow me on Instagram and Pinterest, or reach out if you have questions — I love connecting with fellow travelers!
